About Thermage FLX
Thermage FLX is a non-surgical lifting treatment that spreads monopolar radiofrequency (RF) heat across the dermis, making loose collagen contract immediately and prompting new collagen to form over the following months. Its AccuREP technology reads the skin's electrical resistance on every pulse to tune the energy, while vibration and cooling protect the surface as the heat goes in. It is made by Solta Medical (USA), and one handpiece takes either the Total Tip for the face or the dedicated Eye Tip.
Genuine Tip Check
Thermage tips are single-use, for one patient only. Solta Medical puts a silver hologram authentication sticker on every tip box so that the person being treated can check it with their own phone. At Dr. NewCell we invite you to go through this check with us before treatment.
In the treatment room, check the unopened tip box and its hologram sticker together.
Point your phone camera at the sticker's QR code to open the authentication page.
On a computer, enter the 12-digit code in the authentication menu of the official Korean Thermage website.
The verified tip goes onto the handpiece in front of you and is discarded after your treatment.

How it works
When RF heat reaches the dermis, loose collagen fibres contract at once, and new collagen fills in over the following months. Within each Thermage FLX pulse, cooling, vibration and heat happen in sequence to take the edge off the heat on the skin surface.
The whole tip must touch the skin evenly so the heat does not gather on one side.
Before the heat goes in, a cooling spray and vibration prepare the skin surface.
While the heat travels deep into the skin, vibration continues to spread out the prickling sensation.
Cooling keeps working after the heat goes in to reduce the warmth on the surface.
Each pulse ends with one more burst of cooling before moving on to the next spot.

Thermage FLX Tips
One handpiece, two tips: the face and the eye area are each treated with the right size within the same session.
Warms broad areas such as the forehead, cheeks, jawline and neck evenly. Larger than the earlier 3.0cm² tip, so the same area is finished sooner.
A small surface for thin, narrow skin such as crow's feet, under the eyes and the upper eyelids.
Only the tip is swapped, so the face and the eye area are treated in one continuous session.

Thermage Eye
Skin around the eyes is far thinner than on the face, so heating it at the same level would be too much. With the Eye Tip we shrink the treated area and set the pulse count separately, treating crow's feet and loosening under the eyes and on the upper lids with care.

The first study is an uncontrolled study of the first-generation device, and the other two are surveys of physicians' experience rather than direct measurements of efficacy. Results vary between individuals and do not guarantee Dr. NewCell's treatment outcomes.

Who it fits
Thermage firms the skin itself. It does not lift deeply sagging tissue or restore lost volume, so we explain that boundary first in the consultation.
Process
Even with the same 600 pulses, results differ depending on how they are divided across the forehead, cheeks, jawline and eyes, and at what energy. That is why a doctor handles everything from consultation to follow-up.
With you seated, we look at the sagging, cheek volume and skin thickness together in the mirror. No sales counselors.
MARK-VU measures firmness, hydration and skin resistance that are hard to see with the eye.
Pulse counts and energy are set separately for the face and eyes, and we verify the genuine tip box with you before treatment.
We finish with soothing care and let you know when to check progress and when to plan the next session.
After Thermage
Collagen contracts at once and the skin feels taut. There may be slight redness, and you can wash your face and wear makeup straight away.
Redness and mild swelling usually settle within 1–3 days.
As new collagen forms, firmness and texture gradually improve, continuing up to 6 months according to the manufacturer.
It varies from person to person; looking at your skin, the next session is usually planned about a year later.
Combination
Thermage works on the dermis, so it combines well with treatments that work at other depths.
Ultherapy lifts the contour at the SMAS depth, and Thermage tightens the dermis above it to refine firmness and texture. Each covers a different depth, so they complement each other.
The Total Tip treats the whole face and the Eye Tip the eye area, one after the other on the same day. Popular with people bothered by both fine lines and drooping lids.
Thermage tightens the skin, fillers restore lost volume and Botox softens expression lines. On the same day, the RF treatment usually comes first.
